For this reason Visconti designs and injection moulds its hangers to be sufficiently robust to support multiple reuses in-store and present garments at their best quality. The most efficient and circular model is for hangers to be collected in-store for reuse, or sent to a partner for cleaning and potential rebranding. Reuse of hangers eliminates the need for a brand new virgin hanger for every garment sale. This saves resources, costs and the environment! Where hangers do eventually break, making them unsuitable for reuse, they are widely recycled into new hangers which helps keep the plastic is use for the longest time. Generally, recycled hangers are black to enable a higher inclusion of recycled material. This is a great example of how light weighting hangers to the point where they become single-use, becomes counterproductive when a right weighted, robust hanger is the more sustainable option.
